You can register and use the App only if you are a customer of select insurance agencies that have partnered with MedID to bring you this service. Once your policy is approved, we will update your card data and you will be able to register. Be sure to include your Employer’s Name and Your First & Last Name to expedite our response. I only see my Subscriber ID, how do I get the system to display the rest of my card information? If you only see the Subscriber ID, you can send a picture of your ID Card once you receive it from the carrier in the mail and we will update your digital card for you. Please allow 24 business hours for updates to be made. You can send your ID Card photo here. How do I add the digital ID card on my dependent’s devices? Simply download the app from the store onto their device and use your registration information again to gain access to your card. Repeat as necessary! My friends love my digital ID Card; how can they get access? For now, only select brokers and employers are engaged on our platform. Brokers can reach out to us to find out how their groups can benefit from our services. Check back in 2017 as we have a planned update that will allow you to invite your friends to our service. Can I upload other cards to the service? Yes. See the “Complete My Card” service section. Any insurance cards you photograph and upload will be applied to your app account. What is HIPAA Compliance? Among the many things the Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act does is it ensures we protect your privacy. Our service is rendered in a HIPAA-compliant fashion, meaning your private information is secured in our database and whenever it is transmitted across the Internet to your device. Powerful encryption means you can use our app with confidence that your data and identity will be kept secure. This includes our Complete My Card service, which stores your uploads in a special HIPAA-compliant manner. Where are my data and uploaded photos of ID Cards stored? All data and storage is United States-based. For your protection, we do not operate storage outside of our country’s borders. How can I get my ID Card to my doctor/hospital/other health provider? Easy! Snap a photo by taking a screenshot (iOS/Android) and then you can send the photo anywhere you’d like via text message or email. Remember, this bypasses the security of our app, but if you need to get the data out of the app, this is one method to do so. If you have an mobile-enabled printer, you can print the screen directly from your device in effect generating a duplicate paper ID. How will this service be enhanced in the future? Check back regularly; we have an aggressive road map for expanding this service to support you in the effective use of your insurance policy. Our first enhancement will be to empower you to summon a doctor to your home or office for either your PPO Plan’s copay amount or a reasonable fee. And it will only get better from there!
